West Town Farm is a working organic farm producing beef, lamb and pork.
The farm is part of Higher Level Stewardship and as such is committed to supporting a rich diversity of wildlife. We are passionate about wildlife, and through our membership of an Environmental Stewardship scheme we have improved many habitats for wild animals and at the same time increased our food production. Our three orchards produce many apples as well as providing habitat for voles and owls.
Our main enterprise is beef, reared organically and Pasture-Fed. On a smaller scale we have pigs and grow a variety of vegetables, selling our produce as locally as we can. We sell our meat in our small farm shop and Real Food Store in Exeter.
We feel strongly that everyone should be able to enjoy the countryside, understand farming and benefit from local produce. We want to see people here, learning about the farm and seeing how we produce food.
We are also a farm-based education centre and we love to encourage visitors of all ages to learn more about what we do. This can be done as an educational visit or come to one of our frequent open days. We have a close relationship with our partners' Organic Arts' who we work with to provide unique and creative farm-based learning activities. Much of the farm has been organised so access for people of all abilities is easier. Why not follow our Farm Trail to see what you can discover?
You can hold your own events here at the farm: meetings, team building, BBQ's, weddings and birthday parties. From April to October the cows are in the fields and the farm yard is yours to enjoy.
