May News

Thank you to everyone who came along to (a very wet) Spring at the Farm. What an amazing day. It’s exciting to open our doors again after Winter and Autumn. We hosted our first birthday party of the year, which just so happened to be the sunniest day of the month, Everyone had a really good time and the kids were kept busy. We love hosting birthday parties on the farm so please do get in touch for ideas. The Shepherd's hut is getting lots of bookings and we have some exciting new bell tents so watch this space.

We’re really pleased to say our TB tests came back negative. It’s such a worry waiting for the results. I also found myself helping to deliver a calf. It wasn’t a situation I thought I’d ever have been in, especially when wearing new jeans. To cut a long story short (and miss out some gory bits) it ended up with a pile of us on the floor after the final tug and a very happy healthy calf laying at our feet. Andy was fantastic at guiding all of us through what to do and kept us all very calm. We now have seven new calfs and a few more to come.  The bluebells are blanketing the ground along part of the farm trail walk. Have you followed the arrows and information boards around the trail?

Nigel Hewitt returns to the farm on May 21st at 9am for another bird walk. The farm is looking stunning at this time of year so take advantage of this guided walk. We’ll be running  a cafe afterwards selling breakfast baps and cream teas. This will be open to everyone, not just people on the walk. Pop in for a cuppa whilst strolling ‘around the world’. Cafe from 11am-12.30pm.

Our freezers are full with mince, stewing steak and all your favourite cuts so do pop in.  It’s nearly BBQ season so perfect time to try our delicious burgers, plus we sell charcoal.
